We have a flower!

Finally! Last winter Barbara and Byran went on a

cruise to Hawaii. They brought us all back a

Plameria. We all planted them and waited.

Over the course of the summer we

watched as they each took turns losing their

leaves. We wondered if they were dying.

We babied them watered them brought them

in for the winter. Here it is the first

plant to actually have flowers! Ours is red.

It has been so long I couldn't remember

what color we got. LOL!

Party All Night Long!

Meg had a friend spend the night for her

birthday. Yes I know that was almost two

weeks ago but this was the first time we were

going to be home since then. They had a lot of

fun. The kids rented a Goosebumps Movie.

It was pretty scary. I thought it's a kids movie

how scary can it be. I was wrong. The girls watched

the entire thing and Lucas ran out in the first

5 minutes. They did the DDR and Indiana Jones

Lego games and were up until 1:00 am. We then all

headed out to do the JDRF Walk (see my get

active blog www.familygetactive.blogspot.com)

to see what we did there. They were sure tired

after today.

Longmore Family Campout

We had a great time camping. We went to Granite Flats up

American Fork Canyon. We went up Friday and stayed until

Sunday. The kids love everything about it. Sleeping

in a tent, roasting marshmellows, coming home

covered in dirt and playing with the cousins.

Meg's Birthday

Meg turned 10 yesterday. Where has the time gone. It seems like just yesterday we were bringing her home from the hospital. Our precious baby girl and here she is our beautiful preteen. She got Dance Dance Revolution for the WII. She was so excited. We all took turns playing with her. Just to let you know that at 37 it is not an easy game to learn. Grandpa Longmore will probably tell you that at 62 it is even harder. HAPPY BIRTHDAY MEG!

Knot's Berry Farm here we come!

So it is dad's and Meg's birthday coming up. We decided to meet dad in California and go to Knot's Berry Farm. It was so much fun.

When we got there the Meg, Nick and I went to ride on the Sierra Sidewinder, which is a lot like the spider except you are connected to another car. Lucas didn't want to go on it so mom and dad took him to see the Peanut's gang in a show. Luke liked that. We then decided to go see the Wild West stunt show. This was Lucas's favorite thing. He wanted to just keep watching it. Of course we told him no because there were way to many rides to catch. We then went and waited almost two hours for the Bigfoot rapids. I prewarned everyone that the person sitting next to me would get soaked. Mom was the sucker! She got wetter then me. We then went over and took the
kids on the Log Ride. Lucas who has decided

everything is scary didn't want to go on it but we made him anyway. We then met mom and dad and went on the Calico Mine, Calico Railroad and Stagecoach. These were more to Lucas's liking. Then we decided to split up for a little while so that Meg(our Dare Devil now) could do some of the roller coasters. Dad and mom took Luke to do some of the rides in Camp Snoopy.

Meg was amazing we hit all of them. There was the Xcelerator, Boomerang, Poney Express, and Montewzooma's Revenge. All of them were fast and high. She loved them all. She got a bit nervous when she heard them take off for the first time but she didn't chicken out. It was so fun
having her go with us. I think maybe she liked the one on one with mom and dad almost as much as the rollercoasters. When we met back up with mom and dad all Lucas would do was go see the stunt show again which was fine with them. So they took him back to that and then to see they Mystery Lodge with they both said the show wasn't too bad in there.

We took the kids on a couple more of the the camp snoopy rides. They tried the Mexican Hat dance, Speedway and the little rollercoaster. We called it a night. As a side note, our visit to a theme park isn't complete without a big pickle. It was a blast. We almost closed the park down much to my parents dismay. Everyone was sure ready for bed that night.

Lagoon it's what fun is.

So we went to Lagoon. The only ride that

was busy was the Wicked so we just

never waited for it. The kids had a ball.

Lucas's favorite ride was the Wild Mouse.

Meg's favorite ride was Colossus: Fire Dragon.

We had to convince them they would not fall

out. Once Meg went on it that was all she

wanted to do. Lucas was done. I don't know

what happened but my kids have done have

switched place. Lucas who used to be our dare devil

is now afraid of the big rides and Meg, who we

could never get on them is first in line.

First Day of School.

Does the first day of school ever get easier! There I am standing there watching my 1st grader and my 4th grader head off to their classes and again I want to cry. Sending them off into the unknown is one of the hardest things I have to do. Yes, I know it is just off to good old Butterfield Canyon Elementry for another fun filled year but I am a mom what do you expect. Of course the year wouldn't start out right for Lucas if he didn't have his Indiana Jones Backpack. We waited anxiously for it to come because we ordered it online. His teacher is Ms. Clarke and she is from California. She definitly has the laid back attitude.




Meg's teacher is Mr. Hansen and she just couldn't wait to get into his class. He is very funny and she comes home with a new story everyday about how he made her laugh. I already see a great year ahead of us.
