First day of School

Today was the first day of school. I walked the kids to their

class. As I am standing there watching my six grader and

third grader walk in, I can't help but wonder how they

got so big and why do I still cry when I watch them leave.

Scout Camp

Luke and I had so much fun at scout camp.

This was his first year and I was lucky enough

to get to go. He shot BB Guns, Bow and Arrows,

played games, learned about the United States Flag,

tied knots and the best part the trading post.

Twin Lakes

We did a nice hike to Twin Lakes. We somehow got started

in the wrong spot took about 1 hour to get back on a trail.

After stepping in a lot of mud and trampling thru lots of field

we finally found the lake. Just to have it start to rain and need

hurry down the mountain.

The School Year

The school year was a huge success. Both the kids loved their teachers and had a great year. We had so much going on with the history fair, great brain project, state report, many book reports. The kids ended the year with them both getting the Brilliant Bobcat Award and citizenship award. Meg also got the National Fitness award and the mentor award. We are so proud of the two of them they worked very hard this year.

Maui, Hawaii

We got to take a long weekend to Maui, Hawaii. It was so nice a relaxing. Barbara and Byran came with us. It was such a fun trip. We did the Road to Hana. Which Meg got a little sick on during the drive down. Luckly we had nothing come out. We did give her a trail mix bag just in case. We also hiked the Haleakaka Crater. This was so pretty. The pictures do not do justice to the colors inside. The scenary was so pretty and very green.

We also spent a few morning at the beach and did some snorkling. It was fun. This was new for the kids and even though Meg was scared she gave it a try any way. I am so proud of her for trying something new. Luke took to it like he does everything. Just jumps right in once he decides he wants to. He was very excited to see the fish.

This was such a great trip and ended all to soon.

The last big storm

Nick and the Kids made a snowman with the last big snow storm. They were so tall that they had to use a ladder to put the tops on them. The used all of the snow we had on the grass in the back yard. Before they were able to complete the second snowman he got so top heavy it made him fall over. Luke was on the ladder at the time and jumped off and rolled to the side before the ladder and snowman could crash down on him.
He smiled and said "that is exactly what Indiana Jones would do."

Catching up

It has been so long since I have posted and we have been so busy. Life just seems to keep going before we have a chance to catch a breath. So here is a run down of us.


We welcomed two new members to our family. Yes we are know the lucky owners of hamsters. Meg named hers Fred and he is brown and white while Luke named his Egon (from Ghostbusters) and his is all white.

We are enjoying all that they do. We got little balls for them to run around in the kids really like this. We have also learned that they are climbers. Nick and Meg even saw Fred hanging from his paws on the top of the cage.

Meg was a graduate of the DARE program. I got to go over and see her get a certificate. They also sang a really fun song about staying away from drugs. They have a officer who the call the Dare Dude come in and spend time each week with them. He explains all the pitfalls of drugs. What a great lesson for them.

Meg was also Student of the Month for January. The theme was Caring. Meg definitly has that in spades. She is a wonderful daughter and sister and we are not suprised that she got it for this month. I got to go and have lunch with her at the school and see her get her mug and color changing pencil.

The kids have been taking piano lessons from Michelle. Jessica said what is the point if we aren't going to have a recitial. Here the kids are each did a wonderful job. It was nice to show the Grandparents what they have learned.

Christmas came along with Santa. I got the Ski and Snowboard for the WII. Here Nick is giving it a try. It is pretty fun.

Meg was pretty excited. It looks like she was a good girl this year. (Like always) Grandma Kajma made her the PJ's for Christmas. I know she is so cute.

No Christmas would be complete with a Indiana Jones Lego set. Lucas couldn't wait until it was time to open presents. He is our little Indiana Jones.

December also brought a great blessing to our family. Lucas was Baptized. What a great gift for him. He was very lucky to be able to be Baptized by his Grandfather. This was a very special day. One he had been looking forward to for a long time.

Our holiday season started out with Gingerbread Houses. This is one family tradition the kids love. Lucky for us we have the ultimate erector in the family. Our house was very awsome.
