They all got in on the 4th of July. It has been great. Suzie and I painted my kitchen. It looks great. We dealt with the Swine Flu and Strep. Those who were not sick did the Alta to Brighton hike. Field Trip Weekend

For my days off I volunteers to go on the kids field trips. I was very lucky they happened when I was off work. Tuesday I went with Meg's class to This is the Place Heritage Park. This place has sure changed since I was last there. I am always amazed at what the pioneers went through. I know I would never have been able to endure the hardships they went through.

The kids got to go into a class room. The lady teaches them as if they are actually in school. I can tell you this our kids never would have survived school then. I am pretty sure I wouldn't have. Here Meg is introducing herself to the teacher. They also went to The Pack House. Here they were taught a dance. The kids thought this was very funny.

The kids got to pull handcarts. These carts weighted 110 lbs. It was very entertaining to watch the kids. I am so glad for technology. Now I get to get into my gas powered car and be where I want with no effort. Let's hope the gas stays low.

On Wednesday I went with Luke's class to Hogle Zoo. It was very fun. One of the Zoo keepers met us at the gate with a snake. They let all the kids touch it. I was very glad to just take pictures.

Here we are at the Asian Highlands. The zoo has made a lot of improvements which are very nice. The kids loved seeing the tiger. He was right down at the glass pacing so we got a very up close and personal view of him.

Besides all of the many fun animals we made our stop at the ape's. Of course no trip to the zoo is complete without measuring yourself against the ape's. I think Luke has a ways to go.

New Orleans

For my 38th Birthday we went to New Orleans. It was pretty

fun. We went to the St. Louis Cathedral, St. Louis Cemetary #1,

Aquarium of the America's, The Garden District, Bourbon Street,

and Honeysuckle swamp.

This place is pretty cool. It is very old. A lot of the buildings

are built in the late 1700's and early 1800's. They are amazing.

The Cathedral was so beautiful. It was built in the late 1700's and

is amazing. There are painting on the ceilings and lots of stained glass

We also stopped at the famed Cafe Du Monde and had beignets. This cafe was

built in 1862 and is the place to go for this treat. No experiance is complete without

a stop here. We toured the swamp and it too was very nice. They took us way back

in the swamp. Some of the places the boat could barely go through. We

also saw lots of alligators. They actually throw marshmellows out in the

river for them to eat. They will come right up to the boat. My one last thought

is Bourbon Street is for over 21 at all times. We walked down part of it

during the day and the pictures in the windows very explicit.

Other then that we had a wonderful time and it made turning 38

a lot easier being gone.

Mudd!!!!

Nick was adding a hose bib out in the back yard.
The kids were playing and I was hanging clothes.
The next thing we hear is this loud whoshing sound.
We look over and when Nick cut the line open all
the pressure shot out and blew mudd all in his face!

Fuquay-Farina, North Carolina

We didn't make it home on Sunday so we decided to pop in on Suzie and Zac. What a great idea that was! Zac took the day off of work and the kids skipped school and we all went ice skating. It was so fun. Anytime spent with the Ellett's is alway a plus.

Everyone got into skates. Even Zander

What a good looking bunch!

Here Suzie and Zac are with the boys. Lucas and Liam though this was way too fun skating between them. After skating we all went to the dollar movie. Suzie invited Lucas and Megan to stay for the week. I guess she didn't want the fun to end.

Everglades National Park

We had a day in Miami after our cruise. We decided to go to the Everglades National Park. This was not at all what I thought it would be. It was so nice Alligators everywhere. There was all kinds of wildlife. Here the kids are along the trail we went on. You can see one of the many birds in the background. We even saw a bird catch a fish and eat it. It is a lot more amazing to see in person then the discovery channel. What timing.

We saw several Alligators. I was amazed. I did not plan on seeing any. I guess at this time of year they are out. Barbara reminded us to run zig zag if one chased us. Luckily we didn't have to test that theory.

Here is the family outside the visitors center. We had such a fun time. I was glad to see the in-laws still smiling after a week with us.
